First home buyers of existing properties worth up to $650,000.00 will, from 1 July 2017, be exempt from paying stamp duty. Stamp duty discounts have also been given to the first home buyers purchasing properties worth up to $800,000.00.  Stamp duty charged on the mortgage lenders insurance will also be removed.
